About Quilotoa
Once upon a time in Quilotoa
Quilotoa’s purpose
Quilotoa was founded in 1992 by Jean-Marie Richier, an actor and director, and Christophe Quesne, a business school graduate. Together, they have one ambition: to build human relationships at work and in society.
A lake in Ecuador
Quilotoa is a high-altitude lake in Ecuador’s Cotopaxi province. François Patissier, one of the partners at the time, came up with the name. To date, he is the only one of us to have seen this lake.
A team of experienced trainers
35 actor-trainers join the pair. Some are coaches, facilitators, certified in co-development.
A mission
Following the retirement of Jean-Marie Richier, Sylvia Gesnel joins the team. With a background in HR in large companies, she is part of Quilotoa’s mission: to promote individual progress and mobilise the team.
The theater in our DNA
Theatrical techniques have been the basis of Quilotoa’s teaching methods for 30 years.
